VLAN ZyXEL USG series

I'm new to VLANs (and on this forum). And I'm struggeling to get it configurated on a ZyWALL 50 (20 or 100). What I would like to do: Create a VLAN, to have a seperate network, and additionally block traffic between VLAN and LAN1&2. But it confuses me from the first window: Intreface type: General (?) Zone: LAN1 (I guess) Base Port: lan1 (? what does the base port mean?) VLAN ID: 7 (I will use 192.168.7.x) Fixed IP: 192.168.7.1 Gateway: blank DHCP enabled And here I strand. I connected Port1 (LAN1) to a ZyXEL 1910-24 switch and configured a VLAN on ID 7... I thought when I connect a device on a port on the VLAN7 on the switch I would get an IP. That would be too easy. I searched the internet for examples and support notes. But I'm not getting anywhere. Some say, you need to make a bridge. Others say you need to add routing etc... I'm sure I'm wrong on different paths, but I would be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance! VinzZ
