Spent some time poking around the CenturyLink ZyXEL C1100Z DSL modem/router.
Running some speed tests and other diagnostics caused an odd situation. After doing some speed tests
the DNS stopped responding for some reason. A reboot didn't fix the problem, nor did unplugging the telco cable to the DSL. Did an nmap -A -v {modem ip #}, no port 53 was listed. nslookup timed out for this address. To fix it required a power down of the DSL modem.

If one is hanging another router off of this DSL modem, it seems more responsive to use the LAN/WAN port instead of the switch ports 1-4 for some reason.

Also note to self turn OFF the QOS to INCREASE bandwidth/performance during speed testing. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Was trying to get more smooth video/audio streaming by reducing total BW to 20mbs. Needs more research, at a better time.
