I've been running a Zywall USG 20 both here at home and at my church as a firewall for many years and this morning my Zywall had some sort of hardware fault with the power light on, the system light blinking red and the fan screaming. Removed power and counted to 20 and plugged it back in and it's running again for now.
Here is my home (and church) network:
CenturyLink DSL -> Public / WiFi -> ZyWall USG20 -> Private (church staff) network
Considering the age of the Zywall I'm looking for a replacement device. I could get a Zywall USG 110 but that appears to be way more than what I need since I've never used the VPN capabilities both here at home and at church. Download speeds are 55-80 Mb for both locations. Nice to have would be a few ports on the LAN/private side to plug in my server and cable to my upstairs switch.
Would prefer something above the usual consumer grade (Linksys) for a firewall/router. I'm an ex server type and didn't have to do much with networking/firewalls in the past but can handle the basics. Don't need WiFi - my DSL modem router works fine and at church there is a Ubiquity solution prior to the Zywall.
Thanks!
