ZyXEL Noob

Greetings, I just purchased a ZyXEL USG 20 and I am totally lost on how to set this up. I am trying to replace a Cisco RV4000, but this is so different that I am not sure where to begin with what I thought was a fairly simple setup. Please bear with me and I'll try to explain. This is for my home. With the RV4000 I have two Port based VLANs. VLAN1 supports my son's Gaming computer and VLAN2 is the rest of the network (PCs, NAS, Phones, Netflix streaming to TV, etc). I have an unmanaged switch off each VLAN port for the multiple devices on each VLAN. I thought I would do something similar with the USG 20. I would like to have 3 VLANs. VLAN1 for gaming, VLAN2 for the general network, VLAN3 for VOIP. I see where to add new VLANs, but I have no idea after that. Do I require managed switches? If so, is there any benefit to defining VLANs on the USG 20? I want to implement a secure Home Network. But I'm not sure if my setup is best, or how to implement with the USG 20. Now I am wondering if my plan even provides and security benefits from the outside world. I really wanted to isolate the gaming since it may be possible for someone to access my son's computer (it has happened) and if they do I don't want them to be able to access the rest of the devices on the network. Also.... do I need to add or enable firewall rules for general internet access? Or would the default settings be okay? Are there things I need to disable? I looked at the rules and they didn't make sense to me. I was afraid to touch any of them. Also #2, what are LAN1 & LAN2? Are these sorta like VLANs except just built into the device? Can traffic flow between those LANs by default? A bunch of weird questions, I know. But documentation seems non-existent on actually how to configure things. There are lots of info on the capabilities, but not on how to configure them. Honestly, I'm almost ready to send it back :( I would appreciate your thoughts one what I want to do, and any direction you can give me one exactly what I need to do in order to generally setup a new USG 20. I'm afraid if I just hook it up to the internet then there will be no protection. Thanks so much,
